Legkov and Cester Won ‘Rampa Con I Campioni’

‘Rampa Con I Campioni’, which in free translation means ‘Climb With The Champions’, is a side event to the famous Tour de Ski final stage, the thrilling final climb to Alpe Cermis.

The event was held today before the official end of Tour de Ski, starting at Lago di Tesero cross-country ski stadium and finishing on Alpe Cermis, Cavalese, Italy.

While professional cross-country skiers compete at the 10 kilometers mass start skate race, amateurs have the chance to compete and test themselves against former professional skiers at the demanding Final Climb, over 10 kilometers.

This year’s edition was won by the former Russian skier Alexander Legkov who finished the course in 31:38.6 minutes. In a statement to Newspower, Alexander Legkov said that the race was very demanding since he did not race since September.
Legkov also shared that he has been training between 25 and 60 kilometers every day and hopes to return next year.

Niklas Dyrhaug finished in 2nd position, 24 seconds behind Legkov. According to Newspower, Dyrhaug says that he feels good racing again. He didn’t feel as strong as he used to be but could still perform well.

The Spanish skier Marta Cester, Team Coop, won the women’s race, completing the course in 42:08.2 minutes. The Spanish skier says that Alpe Cermis is a very demanding climb but the scenery is beautiful.

This victory motivated her to be the best Spanish skier at Visma Ski Classics events and continue performing at the top level.
