Astrid Øyre Slind, Team Aker Dæhlie, will combine the Beitostølen World Cup and the Ski Classics Bad Gastein Criterium this weekend.

Astrid Øyre Slind, Team Aker Dæhlie, will combine the Beitostølen World Cup and the Ski Classics Bad Gastein Criterium this weekend.

Astrid Øyre Slind confirmed to Langrenn.com on Monday evening that she will be starting the 10km individual start in classic technique at the Beitostølen World Cup the upcoming Saturday and the Bad Gastein Criterium, a Ski Classics Pro Tour event in Austria, on Sunday.

On Monday, the Pro Tour skier was named to represent Norway in the Beitostølen World Cup. The 34-year-old athlete is one of the eight Norwegian women who will take part in the 10-kilometer classic on Saturday. At the same time, she is one of the Champion favorites for the Ski Classics Season XIV.

The Team Aker Dæhlie skier was appointed to join the Norwegian National Team during the Lillehammer World Cup after winning the 10-kilometer freestyle race at the Norwegian Cup in Gålå.

At Lillehammer, Øyre Slind was in 17th place and eighth best Norwegian. Now, she will start in a competition she mastered, the classic technique race.

Big Goals

After being named for Lillehammer, Astrid Øyre Slind was a guest on Øystein Pettersen’s podcast last week. There, the long-distance skier stated that her dream goal for the season is to win a World Championship medal in Planica and Vasaloppet.

If she gets another good performance at Beitostølen, the skier from Oppdal will be on her way to her dream goal.

Øyre Slind Will Not Start The Pro Team Tempo

The Ski Classics premiere weekend will take place in Bad Gastein, Austria, on December 10 and 11. Øyre Slind will miss Saturday’s Bad Gastein Pro Team Tempo but aims to get to the start of the Bad Gastein Criterium.

The Season XIV of the Ski Classics Pro Tour consists of 14 events on 10 weekends in 6 different countries.
