At Lager 157 Ski Instagram and Vasapodden (Lager 157 Ski Team Podcast – in Swedish), Johansson Norgren announced that she would be retiring from the professional rankings after so many years of success.

On Saturday, April 9, Britta Johansson Norgren will be on the start line for the final event of the Visma Ski Classics Season XII, a race that will also mark her last occasion as a Pro Tour skier.

Lager 157 Ski Team skier Britta Johansson Norgren will do her last competition tomorrow. Before her last competition, Britta has 24 victories in Ski Classics, and 3 Olympics, among other things, and you will understand that it is a great athlete who will say goodbye to the big stage tomorrow.

 “I have decided that this will be my last competition, everything has an end and it’s time to spend time on other things than myself and the skis,” says Britta in Vasapodden.

Britta is currently fighting a tough battle for the yellow leader vest in Ski Classics and leads before the final competition with 97 points ahead of Ramudden’s Ida Dahl. Should Britta manage to hold off, it will be her sixth victory in total in Ski Classics.

“Last year I did not want to stop when things went so badly. I felt that if I could come back and show that I kept up, it would be a good opportunity to quit when I was still doing well,” Britta continues.

Now only one competition remains, the finish in Ski Classics in Ylläs-Levi, a competition that Britta looks forward to and wants to perform at the top. That the news comes so late at the start is a choice Britta has made.

“I have received a lot of questions about it (to stop), I think many people have understood but I did not want my focus to be on the last thing but want to focus on performing all the way in and then get it be clear,” says Britta.
