It was during the night to last Friday that an industrial building in Öjebyn was completely destroyed in a fire. The roller ski supplier Elpex had its facility there, including both factory and warehouse.

No one was injured in the fire, but the building could not be saved. On social media, Elpex commented on the incident:

“During the night before yesterday, the building where we had our factory and warehouse was completely destroyed in a fire. We are grateful that no one was injured.”

Thankful for the Support

They hope the fire will not impact on the availability of roller skis and accessories this summer.

“ Most of this summer’s orders have already been delivered to our dear retailers, so the availability of roller skis and spare parts should not be affected during the summer,” Elpex continues.

The company is now working to resume production.

“ We are now working intensively to resume production as quickly as possible. Thank you for all the support we have received so far – it means a great deal. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to reach out.”

Last year, it was announced that Viktor Brännmark would take over the traditional roller ski brand. He retired from skiing last spring to focus on running instead.
